Deborah Findlay has had an incredibly varied and exciting career as an actress in tv, film and theatre. Having won an Olivier award for her performance as Hilda, opposite Anthony Sher in ‘Stanley’ at the National (1996) she went on to take roles in many films including ‘The End of the Affair’ (1999) with Ralph Fiennes and Julianne Moore and Mira Nair’s ‘Vanity Fair’ (2004). Deborah has a chameleon quality that won her great acclaim when playing a double bill at the National as Pauline in ‘The Winters Tale,’ and Mrs Tull in Mark Ravenhill’s ‘Mother Clap’s Molly House.’ Most recently Deborah has been seen playing Mrs Tomkinson in the BBC’s mini series ‘Cranford’ alongside Judi Dench and Eileen Atkins.
Deborah will be working with four Masterclass members onstage, looking at how the power balance shifts between characters in a scene, illustrating this by working on two plays - Ibsen’s ‘John Gabriel Borkman’ and Mark Ravenhill’s ‘The Cut’.
The onstage particiapants have been chosen in advance but do book your ticket using the link below if you'd like to watch this fascinating session.
