Vicky Featherstone

Vicky Featherstone is Artistic Director and Chief Executive of the National Theatre of Scotland for whom she has directed Cockroach by Sam Holcoft (a co-production with the Traverse Theatre), 365 (a co-production with the Edinburgh International Festival), Mary Stuart (Citizens’ Theatre, Glasgow and Royal Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh) and co-directed The Wolves In The Walls (Tramway, Lyric Hammersmith, UK tour and New Victory Theater, New York).  In Autumn 2009 she is directing Long Gone Lonesome, created by Duncan McLean and the Lone Star Swing Band which is touring village halls in the Scottish Highlands and Islands.  Recent awards include: Tastemaker of the Year at the Scottish Style Awards 2007 and The Wolves In The Walls won the TMA Award for Best Children’s Show in 2006.

While Artistic Director of Paines Plough, the acclaimed new writing touring theatre company based in London, she directed The Small Things by Enda Walsh, Pyrenees by David Greig, On Blindness by Glyn Cannon, The Drowned World by Gary Owen (Pearson Best Play, Fringe First), Tiny Dynamite by Abi Morgan (MEN Best Fringe Production), Crazy Gary’s Mobile Disco by Gary Owen, Splendour by Abi Morgan (TMA/Barclays Best Director & Best Play, Fringe First & Herald Angel), Riddance by Linda McLean (Fringe First & Herald Angel), The Cosmonaut’s Last Message To The Woman He Once Loved In The Former Soviet Union by David Greig, Crave by Sarah Kane, Sleeping Around by Hilary Fannin, Stephen Greenhorn, Abi Morgan and Mark Ravenhill and Crazyhorse by Parv Bancil.
