Ruthie Henshall

Ruthie Henshall’s musical theatre credits include Maggie in A Chorus Line (UK tour); Cats at the New London Theatre where she played the five cats “Jemima, Demeter, Jellylorum, Griddlebone and Grizabella”; Ellen in Miss Saigon at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane; Aphra in Children Of Eden at Prince Edward Theatre and Fantine in Les Miserables at the Palace Theatre.

She was then chosen to play Polly in Crazy For You at the Prince Edward Theatre, for which she was nominated for an Olivier Award as Best Actress in a Musical. She has also played Polly in Toronto, with Mickey Rooney playing her father. Other major musical theatre roles include Amelia Bullish in She Loves Me at the Savoy Theatre; Nancy in Oliver at the London Palladium and Roxie in the original cast of Chicago. The role of Roxie earned Ruthie another Olivier Award nomination and she made her New York debut as Roxie on Broadway in January 1999.

Other credits include a season at Chichester Festival performing Moliere’s The Sisterhood, Shakespeare’s Henry Vlll and Gillian Lyons’ production of Valentine’s Day. Her one woman show has toured England including a sell-out concert at the Royal Festival Hall. Her recordings include Miss Saigon, Children Of Eden, Crazy For You, She Loves Me, Chicago and the 10th anniversary concert of Les Miserables as well as three solo albums.
