The world of theatre, film and TV appear as highly attractive worlds to which many aspire. The reality is that to succeed takes the utmost dedication, focus, talent and opportunities. Masterclass is a truly unique programme which provides interested young people with expert guidance, inspirational learning opportunities and a heavy does of realism to cut through the dreams of stardom and fame – and it is all given entirely free of charge.

Over the past eleven years, Masterclass has supported over 45,000 young people, who come from all over the UK to attend. Many are now amongst the ranks of emerging successful artists of the future. Others are taking their first tentative steps into professional training. For the UK to continue to produce world-class artists, it is vital that exceptional opportunities exist. Masterclass offers its young people unrivalled chances to get close to the professional world, to develop a strong contact base and to mix with a like-minded community, highly important for personal well-being and to stem a sense of desperation and hopelessness which can take over in an industry where unemployment rests at 80% (Equity statistics, members looking for work at any one time).

SPONSORSHIP AND DONATIONS
The Theatre Royal Haymarket provides the theatre space, its technical staff and office and management resources. Masterclass staff, event costs, promotional costs and special projects need to be funded through external support.
