Join us for at the Theatre Royal Haymarket for an on-stage Masterclass with award-winning playwright Chris Bush (Standing At The Sky’s Edge, Rock/Paper/Scissors, The Doncastrian Chalk Circle, Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World).
The Masterclass will begin by analysing short extracts of plays from a range of styles and genres. Chris will then work with actors on stage to explore what makes successful dialogue. She will also provide writers with a series of exercises to sharpen their skills and help them write text that sticks with their audience long after the performance ends.

Biography
Chris Bush is an Olivier award-winning playwright, lyricist and theatre-maker, and is an Associate Director at Sheffield Theatres. Past work includes Standing at the Sky’s Edge (Sheffield Crucible, National Theatre), which won awards including the Olivier Award for Best New Musical, South Bank Sky Arts Award for Best Theatre and UK Theatre Awards for Best Musical; Rock/Paper/Scissors (Sheffield Theatres); Jane Eyre (Stephen Joseph Theatre, New Vic Theatre); The Doncastrian Chalk Circle (CAST Doncaster, National Theatre); Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World (Kenny Wax, UK Tour), winner of the UK Theatre Award for Best Show for Children & Young People; Hungry (Paines Plough); (Kein) Weltuntergang/(Not) the End of the World (Schaubühne, Berlin); Nine Lessons and Carols: Stories from a Long Winter (Almeida Theatre); Faustus: The Damned Woman (Headlong/Lyric Hammersmith, Birmingham Rep); The Last Noël (Attic Theatre, UK tour); The Assassination of Katie Hopkins (Theatr Clwyd), winner ofthe UK Theatre Award for Best Musical; Pericles (National Theatre: Olivier); The Changing Room (NT Connections); The Band Plays On, Steel, What we Wished For, A Dream, The Sheffield Mysteries (all Sheffield Theatres); Scenes from the End of the World (Yard Theatre, Central School); A Declaration from the People (National Theatre: Dorfman) and Larksong (New Vic Stoke-on-Trent).
