We create spaces where emerging writers and theatre makers can experiment, collaborate and develop new stories with the support of a creative community. Whether you’re putting pen to paper for the first time, refining a draft, or sharing work with an audience, our Script Development opportunities help you take the next step.
Through Script Sessions and Script Scratch, writers can develop their work alongside actors, directors, designers and other creatives — gaining valuable feedback, exploring new ideas and discovering what a script can become.
Script Sessions
The first step in the process.
Script Sessions are collaborative development rooms where writers bring early drafts or works-in-progress to be explored by a group of theatre makers. Through table reads, discussion and constructive feedback, scripts are tested, challenged and shaped in a supportive environment.
These sessions are a chance for writers to hear their work aloud, for actors to explore characters, for directors and dramaturgs to offer insight, and for designers and producers to imagine the possibilities within a new piece.

Script Scratch
Taking new writing from the page to an audience.
Script Scratch gives emerging writers the opportunity to share extracts of their work through rehearsed live readings, supported by directors, actors and designers. Audiences become part of the development process, offering feedback and helping writers understand how their work connects beyond the creative room.
Each event celebrates new voices and fresh ideas, bringing together the wider theatre community to discover, discuss and champion new work.
