Join us (on the set of FROZEN!) for this Masterclass with triple Drama Desk, double Olivier, and Tony award-winning designer, Finn Ross. Over the course of his career Finn has worked on multi-million-pound musicals and smaller off west end productions. No matter the budget, his artistic process has remained the same.

In this workshop, Finn will concentrate on his video designs for three productions: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time (NT), The End of Eddie (Unicorn) and Frozen (Theatre Royal Drury Lane). Using these projects he will discuss his creative process, the tools he uses, and his passion for storytelling.

A fantastic session for any kind of designer, and anyone interested in using video in their work. It is also an incredible opportunity for actors, directors, and producers to peek behind the curtain at one of the West End’s biggest shows.

Biography

Finn Ross began exploring the emerging world of video design and media servers in the early 00’s with theatre companies like Complicité and The English National Opera, and has since designed productions all over the world, in both commercial and artistic spaces. His work makes video a seamless part of the production, integrating it holistically with set, lights, sound and performer, helping to create one compelling experience for the audience. His work has been seen on Broadway and the West End, at The Met, The Royal Opera House and on tour. He now focuses on work for the stage and beyond, leading large projects with a complex ambition for video design that pushes the boundaries of what has been done before, frequently uniting new and innovative technologies with large multidisciplinary teams. He has won Tony, Oliver and Drama Desk Awards.
