In this panel conversation, led by audience questions, we’ll discuss the performers’ process, their journeys into theatre and these roles, and what it takes to sustain a demanding musical every night.

Tyrone Huntley (Judas)
Tyrone divides his time between Lincoln, London and Los Angeles, where he recently made his US stage debut as Simon in Jesus Christ Superstar at the Hollywood Bowl. He won an Evening Standard Theatre Award and a Mousetrap Award, and received Olivier and WhatsOnStage Award nominations for his acclaimed performance as Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. His Lysander in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Watermill Theatre earned an Ian Charleson Award commendation. Tyrone’s directorial debut, Ain’t Misbehavin’, received rave reviews and multiple Offie nominations, plus a Best Director nomination at The Stage Debut Awards.
Desmonda Cathabel (Mary Magdalene)
Desmonda is an actress from Jakarta, Indonesia, most recently seen as Eurydice in Hadestown at the Lyric Theatre in the West End. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, she won the Stephen Sondheim Society Student Performer of the Year 2022 and was a quarter-finalist on ITV’s Mamma Mia! I Have A Dream in 2023. Her theatre credits include Princess Jasmine in Disney’s Aladdin on the UK and Ireland Tour, Alternate Kim in Miss Saigon at Sheffield Crucible, and Lorene in From Here To Eternity at Charing Cross Theatre. Her concert work includes Old Friends, Treason and Rosie: A New Musical.
David Thaxton (Pontius Pilate)
David trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. His theatre credits include Sunset Boulevard at St James Theatre, Broadway and the Savoy Theatre, for which he received an Olivier nomination for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical; Passion at the Donmar Warehouse, winning the Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical; Les Misérables, Come From Away, The Phantom of the Opera, Camelot, Love Never Dies, She Loves Me, Candide and Only The Brave. Concert appearances include Jesus Christ Superstar at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, Friday Night is Music Night and Bring Them Home.
Matty J (Annas)
Matty J (any/all) is from Manila, Philippines. Matty trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and recently appeared as the 4th placer and double Golden Buzzer holder from Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden on Britain’s Got Talent in 2026. His credits include Sonja in Oscar At The Crown at The Crown, Muzha in the workshop of Ne Zha, and Lost in Love (the Air Supply musical) in workshop. Following appearances on Idol Philippines and the release of original music, Matty was featured on several TV shows and won the Awit Award for Best Male Vocal performance by a New Artist in 2021. His Pride anthem, “Kapangyarihan”, was featured in Drag Race Philippines Season 2.
Courtney Arango (Resident Choreographer / Swing / Co-Dance Captain)
Courtney is a New York City-based actress and creative who grew up in Miami, Florida. She trained at New World School of the Arts and earned her BFA in Musical Theatre from the Boston Conservatory at Berkley. Courtney made her Broadway debut in Boop! The Musical and toured North America with the 50th Anniversary production of Jesus Christ Superstar, later joining its creative team as Assistant Choreographer on the US and International Tours. Other credits include Pippin, A Chorus Line, In the Heights and West Side Story, for which she won the 2019 Craig Noel Award. She now makes her West End debut in Jesus Christ Superstar at the London Palladium.
Charley Warburton (Mob Leader (Main Dancer) / Ensemble)
Charley trained at Arts Educational Schools London, graduating in 2022, and at Nadine’s Dance Company. Her theatre credits include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat on UK Tour, Moulin Rouge at the Piccadilly Theatre, Back to the Future at the Adelphi Theatre, and the workshop production of Little Bits of Light at the National Theatre. She now appears as Mob Leader and Ensemble in Jesus Christ Superstar, bringing experience from major West End productions, touring work and new musical development to the company.
