Join boundary-pushing playwright, Philip Ridley, as he discusses finding and honing your voice as a creative in theatre.

Using examples from his shows, including his most recent show Tarantula at The Arcola, along with rare unpublished works, Philip will share his approach to finding the truth and drama in theatre, as well as insights into the practicalities of writing. There will be plenty of opportunity for audience questions.

Since his writing debut in 1991 with The Pitchfork Disney at the Bush Theatre, Philip’s work has been cited as “changing the course of British Drama” and Philip himself as being a “provocateur dramatist”. His plays have been staged around the globe with directors including Jamie Lloyd, John Tiffany, and Matthew Lloyd, and performers including Jude Law, Ben Whishaw, Lindsey Duncan, and Maxine Peake.

“I love the way he writes about fantasy, truth, honesty and lies with such courage, passion, humour and poetry. I think he's a true original” – Ben Whishaw
