Join Olivier-nominated theatre director, Sinéad Rushe, for a hands-on workshop on the Michael Chekhov acting technique.

In this practical Masterclass, you will exercise your imagination, sense of spontaneity and ability to act on impulse. Sinéad will also share tools to create bold and original characters using Chekhov’s psychological gesture. A technique in which the actor explores the inner life of a character through movement.

Biography

Sinéad is a theatre director and acting coach and one of the worlds’ leading experts on the Michael Chekhov technique.

She is Senior Lecturer in Acting and Movement at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, London on the innovative BA Acting (Collaborative and Devised Theatre) three year programme, artistic director of Creative Actor Training, author of Michael Chekhov’s Acting Technique: A Practitioner’s Guide (Bloomsbury 2019) and co-translator into French of four plays by Howard Barker (Editions Théâtrales). She is co-director of Michael Chekhov UK, Faculty Council member of Michael Chekhov Association USA (MICHA) and she gives masterclasses and talks worldwide on acting and the Michael Chekhov technique.
