In the rush to make the perfect production, marketing materials can be left to the last minute. But your poster, flyer and production shots (etc) are vital in communicating your work and building your audience.
In this Masterclass, theatre PR and graphic designer, Flavia Fraser Cannon, and photographer, Alex Brenner discuss how to create quality marketing materials, the importance of a detailed brief for your show’s artwork, and the top ten things to consider in getting excellent production shots!
It is also a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the exciting world of theatre PR and production photography.
Biography
Flavia Fraser-Cannon
As a producer Flavia has worked across London, Edinburgh Fringe and UK touring, co-producing with venues such as the New Diorama and Arcola Theatre and as In-House Producer and Head of Marketing at Theatre503.
As an arts communications professional, Flavia has worked across a broad range of venues and companies most recently as a Senior PR Account Manager at Mobius industries on contracts for RashDash, Breach Theatre, Shitfaced Shakespeare, Le Gateau Chocolat, Park Theatre, Watford Palace Theatre, Sink the Pink, Hot Brown Honey, Noda Map and The Vaults. Flavia has guest lectured in Arts Marketing at Queen Mary’s University London and led workshops for the New Diorama young producers.
Alex Brenner
Alex is a professional London-based photographer specialising in the performing arts. In the last ten years he has had the fortune to take photographs for a broad and diverse range of artists and companies creating extraordinary work at every scale in theatre, opera, comedy, cabaret, music, live art, and more, including ENO, the Old Vic, Complicité, he Royal Court, the Orange Tree, Noda Map, the Arcola, BE Festival, Opera UpClose, the New Diorama, Ad Infinitum, the Jermyn Street Theatre, Showstopper!, Inspector Sands, and many more.
