
Paid Internships: Junior Theatre Technician

Masterclass is offering two paid, 6-week internships for aspiring Theatre Technicians, at two of LW Theatres' six venues. These are hands-on opportunities for those interested in electrics, stagecraft and/or video to gain backstage experience in a professional theatre.
You’ll work full-time alongside experienced in-house electrical, video and stage teams, supported by Masterclass. During this 6-week placement, you’ll develop essential skills in lighting, rigging and carpentry/stagecraft, with the flexibility to focus on your interests.

📅 Internship 1: 13 January - 1 March 2026
📅 Internship 2: 2 February - 22 March 2026
Please Note: All applicants must be able to commit to the full contract. This includes evening and weekend shifts.
🚀 Apply by: Wednesday 20 November at 9.00am to be considered for both internships. Applications received after Wednesday 20 November, but before Wednesday 27 November will only be considered for Internship 2.

💰 Salary: Paid at National Minimum Wage

Who Should Apply:
Ideal candidates will:
✔ Have a strong interest in theatre
✔ Be curious, enthusiastic and hardworking
✔ Have relevant qualifications or experience in carpentry, stagecraft and/or electrics
✔ Be eager to learn and contribute to a busy team
✔ Possess good communication and organisation skills
✔ Work well under pressure and solve problems effectively
✔ Not have professional experience working backstage on a large-scale commercial production
✔ Be aged 18+
✔ Be available for the full placement. This includes evening and weekend shifts
We particularly welcome and encourage candidates from backgrounds which are currently underrepresented in the offstage workforce.
Due to funding, preference will be given to candidates under 25* and residing in specific London boroughs (Barnet, Brent, Camden, City of London, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster).
