Paid Internship: Wardrobe Assistant

Masterclass and Eleanor Lloyd Productions are seeking applications for a Wardrobe Internship on A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story. This is an exciting development opportunity for someone who wishes to gain experience on a large-scale commercial production, with a view to becoming a theatre Wardrobe or Costume professional. 

About the Show: 

A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story, Mark Gatiss' acclaimed retelling of Dickens' winter ghost story returns to the hauntingly atmospheric Alexandra Palace with a brilliant new cast. The Wardrobe Intern will be involved in the production throughout Get-In, Tech, Previews and Shows, and will have the opportunity to learn about working in a Wardrobe department, supporting a large cast with quick changes and managing period costume. 

Key Information: 

📅 Internship: 17 November 2025 – 4 January 2026. Please Note: All applicants must be able to commit to the full contract. There are no shows on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day.

💰 Salary: Paid at London Living Wage 

📍Location: Based at the Alexandra Palace Theatre, London, N22.

 Who Should Apply:  

We're looking for candidates who: 

✔ Have some sewing and costume maintenance skills 

✔ Have a keen interest in theatre and a desire to learn on the job 

✔ Are flexible and have the ability to work well as part of a team 

✔ Have excellent communication and organisational skills 

✔ Have an ability to work calmly under pressure and solve problems if they arise 

✔ Are aged 18+

 ✔ Have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the placement 

We particularly welcome and encourage candidates from backgrounds which are currently underrepresented in the offstage workforce, although we regret that due to the nature of the venue there is no step-free access.  

Due to funding, preference will be given to candidates under 25 and residing in select London boroughs (Barnet, Brent, Camden, City of London, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster).
